The third Arab song festival will be held in Casablanca this March 15-17, Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP) reported.
The festival, sponsored by the Moroccan musicians union, features a contest of the best Arab song, a conference on Arab songs and the Palestinian cause and an exhibition of Arab songs documents and stars.
Tunisia, Syria, Egypt, Libya and Palestine will be participating in the festival, said the agency.
Meanwhile, Morocco will witness Tatwan Cinema Festival on March 24.
The festival, which is held once every two years, is dedicated for the Mediterranean cinema. It has been established since 1991.
Egypt won the first award at the last turn of Tatwan Festival for the film “Araq Al-Balah” (Date Wine, 1999) Written & directed by Radwan El-Kashef.
Chief of the Festivals high jury and chief of the Arab Art Union, Fawzi Fahmi, told AFP that the festival is going to honor Leila Olwi and Sharif Arafa for their works -- Albawaba.com
