The Moroccan director Abdel Majeed Rashish is currently shooting his TV film “Saidah” in Casablanca. The new film tackles the issue of sexual harassment.
The film star Amal al Shabli told the daily al Sharq al Awsat, “I play the role as a young woman who faces sexual harassment by her boss at work. I decided not to keep silent about the affair but turn it into a public issue through contacting one prominent woman to help me deal with this issue and also a friend of mine who was raped but does not have the courage to revel that.”
Shabli who debuted in a strong role in the film Maktoub (a Letter) directed by Nabil Ayoush has recently turned to comedy roles through her participation in the series Lala Fatma aired by the Moroccan Channel 2 last Ramadan.
Moroccan channel 1 will begin next week airing a new comedy series entitled Kulha Yelghi Be Lughah (Everybody Speaks His Language) in which Shabli plays a starring role.
The Moroccan actress said that she was waiting with big concern the response of the Moroccan audience to the series particularly following the criticism, which the Moroccan comedy has faced -- Albawaba.com
