Retired Egyptian songstress, Mona Abdul Ghani was surprised that the Egyptian Tax Bureau is asking her for 500,000 Egyptian Pounds, in late taxes for concerts she held in 1998 and 1999.
One problem: The songstress retired four years ago.
According to Al Raya newspaper, Abdul Ghani asked her lawyer to look into the papers of this case.
These documents include various newspaper and magazine clippings announcing the songstress’s retirement.
It is a well-known fact that Mona decided to quit on her career after the accidental death of her brother.
The songstress wore the veil and cut off all relations with the world of arts.
Since then, Mona has only participated in one event, which is the recent tribute operetta to the martyrs of the ‘Al Quds’ Intifada, entitled Al Quds ha Tirga’a Lana (Jerusalem Will Come Back to Us). – Albawaba.com.
