Prominent Saudi singer Mohammad Abdo has refused an offer from the United Nations to grant him the title of Goodwill Ambassador for all Refugees. The singer declined the position since it excluded Palestinian refugees.

According to the London based daily, Al Quds Al Arabi, Abdo stated, “As an Arab it is my duty to fight for the rights of my Palestinian brothers, and to exclude them in such a mission is something I cannot accept.”

Abdo has been preparing for the release of his upcoming album, including songs in the Egyptian dialect. The singer held sessions with Egyptian composer Mustafa Al Subaili, who stated that Abdo singing in the dialect will bring great happiness to his Egyptian fans.

Abdo has joined the numerous Gulf singers that are recording songs in the Egyptian dialect, like Kuwaitis Nabil Shu’ail and Nawal, Saudi Jawad Al Ali, and UAE singer Hussein Al Jasmi.
