Noor Al Samari, Miss Egypt 2002/2003, is currently preparing for her journey to Panama to take part in the Miss Universe beauty pageant, to take place on June 3rd. Noor revealed that she is currently undergoing extensive physical training to be in perfect shape, along with practicing on certain exercises, like how to walk on stage and how to answer properly to the questions asked in the pageant.

According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, Noor revealed that she hopes to reach the ten finalists in the contestants, saying it would be a great leap for Egypt that never had a participant go that far. Noor also expressed that she is very nervous as the countdown continues to the pageant.

Lacetalace, the company sponsoring and organizing the beauty pageant, will be taking full responsibility in bringing Noor to Panama to be part of the big event. Noor is scheduled to leave within the upcoming two weeks.

In October last year Horreya Farghally, Miss Egypt 2002/2003, surprised everyone by giving up her title to the first runner-up, Noor, following several rumors, affecting her reputation's credibility at a press conference she held in Cairo.

Rumors circulated claiming that the 25-year old Farghally had secretly tied the knot with another man, despite her engagement to Ahmed Hatem Farrag, the son of the well-known media figure, Ahmed Farrag. "I did not marry and I did not get LE 200,000 (approximately: $ 48,000) following my coronation, as rumors claimed. I'm going to give up my title to Noor, and will dedicate my time to horse riding," she said, expressing hopes in owning and operating a horse-riding school to teach the younger generation.

Several groups attacked the event, which took place last July 15, at the Conrad Hotel in Cairo, saying that the idea of organizing such an event does not reflect any 'open-mindedness', but shows how far away we are moving from cultural and religious values.

Noor had added to her talents by taking part in last Ramadan's TV drama "Al Attar Wal Sabaa Banat" (The Spice Dealer and His Seven Girls) alongside Nour Al Sherif. The series had introduced the young beauty queen to the Arab world especially since it was her first major appearance on television. – Albawaba.com
