Young Egyptian actor Mirna Al Muhandis has denied circulating rumors that she has gotten engaged to actor Amir Shahin, younger brother to prominent Egyptian actor Elham Shahin.
Mirna stressed that she and Amir are very close friends and have known each other for years. What makes him so dear to her is that he stood by her side when she suffered a serious illness, she explained.
According to the UAE based daily, Al Bayan, Mirna asserted that she has become accustomed to such rumors and they in no way affect her personal relationships.
Mirna explained that she had been experiencing pain in her abdominal since her early childhood, and was treated incorrectly for several years.
Eventually she underwent surgery on her colon in the US, and is now under the strict care of an English doctor, whom she visited at least twice per year.
The actress is now able to lead a normal life and has returned to her acting career with her most recent role alongside prominent Egyptian actress Yusra in the television drama “Ahlam Adieh” (Ordinary Dreams).
Mirna revealed that she plans on making up for all the lost time she was away from the acting world due to her illness. The actor has given all she can to her audience and has not allowed her illness to overcome her.
