An Egyptian court has decided to jail actress Mirhan Hussein for two weeks.
This happens after the Egyptian artist requested to appeal when the previous verdict of imprisonment for two years and a half and paying 30 Thousand Egyptian pounds was made against her for attacking a public worker.
The court also charged the two officers involved in the case of two weeks imprisonment accusing them of libel.
Asim Qandil, Mirhan Hussein's lawyer, will appeal to the sentence against his client according to a statement he made to the press.
The court reduced the sentence from two years to 14 days, after Mirhan was found guilty with the charges of assaulting and beating a public worker, yet she was found not guilty of driving while being drunk.
The story goes back to 2016 when security forces in Giza arrested Mirhan Hussein at the dawn of March 1, 2016, after police requested her license, but a dispute happened between the two parties and the situation developed to mutual accusations.
