ALBAWABA - Photographers shot these photos of Lionel Messi in 2007 for a charity event.

Even though he was just 20 years old, Messi had already cemented his position among football's elite, and many predicted that he would go on to become the sport's all-time great.

No one could have predicted that Lamine Yamal, the baby in Messi's arms in these photos, who initially appeared to be struggling to carry him properly, would go on to become a football superstar before he turned 17—Yamal, who has recently revolutionized the sport The European football scene.

Following his father's Instagram post that read, "The beginning of two legends," the photo of Messi and Lamine once again gained attention.

Juan Monfort, a photographer for the Associated Press news agency, captured the moments when the Lamine family, who resided in the Mataro area of Barcelona in eastern Spain, received their lottery wins from the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

The Lamine family had entered the competition, and photographer Monfort said, "They were photographed at the Camp Nou stadium with the star Messi."

Messi recollects, as reported by the BBC, that he was in a similar chamber with a plastic bottle holding water and a baby shortly after emerging from the changing room. At first, Messi struggled because he didn't know how to properly handle the infant.

Monfort stated that he was unaware that the baby in the photos was Lamin Yamal until the images went viral online.

Additionally, he discussed the exhilaration of contributing to a project that garners significant attention. It is a pleasant sensation, really.

"We have seen a genius," said Spain national team coach Luis de la Fuente after Yamal's sensational performance in Tuesday's European Nations Cup semi-final match against France. We are fortunate to have him in Spain, and he will be a valuable player for many years.

The final will take place next Sunday in Berlin, the day after Yamal's 17th birthday. Spain is aiming to break Germany's record of three wins, which it now shares.
