Harry and Markle got married in May 2018 and announced that they were expecting their first child in October. "I have the two best guys in the world, so I'm really happy," Markle said Wednesday.
"We're so thrilled to have our own little bundle of joy," Harry added.
Markle was wearing a white dress by British designer Grace Wales Bonner during the public appearance. Archie was wrapped in a white shawl made by U.K. company GH Hurt & Son.
The baby's full name was announced after Harry and Markle introduced Archie to Queen Elizabeth and her husband, Prince Philip. Markle's mother, Doria Ragland, was also present at the meeting.

The baby's last name of Mountbatten-Windsor goes back to 1960, when Queen Elizabeth and Philip chose to make their own surname for their own direct descendants to be distinguished from the rest of the royal family.
Mountbatten comes from Philip's surname, which he used while serving as a lieutenant in the Royal Navy.
Archie, a shortened version of Archibald, has meanings such as genuine, bold or brave.
Harry praised his wife after the birth and said he was "over the moon."
"It's been the most amazing experience I could ever possibly imagine," he said. "How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension."
