After Syrian singer Asala Nasri refused to pay any attention to the rude remarks made about her by fellow Syrian singer Mayada Henawi, the latter was fired up once again in a new attack on Miss Nasri!
According to Elaph news, Mayada accused Asala of wanting to change the Syrian flag and national anthem! Seriously, what? She said: “Who does she think she is? She’s so full of herself and thinks that she’s better than everyone else.”
But a patriotic Mayada didn’t stop there and went on to say: “Asala has greatly benefited from the Syrian government, especially when she had those two fully government-funded surgeries on her leg. So for her to oppose the gov in this way is insulting and improper.”
In a delusional comment, Mayada said that she believes Asala deeply regrets the political stance she took towards Syria, and even thinks Asala dreams of returning back there.
While friends tried to reconcile between the two, Mayada strongly refused to be friends with someone who “betrayed their country,” and who apparently is banned from entering Syria as she would face a death sentence if she was to return there.
Meanwhile, Mayada was all praise for Syrian actress Raghda, who recently appeared on Yemeni TV presenter Arwa’s show “Nawwaret,” on MBC. A heated debate about the Syrian crisis drove Raghda, who is a strong supporter of the gov, out of the studio. A pleased Mayada said that Raghda was very honorable for walking out, because Arwa was very unfair and biased towards her, and by the Qs directed at her about Syria.
“I say to Miss Arwa, who resides in Lebanon and lives the high life there, to take a look at what is taking place in her own country, Yemen, and at the people who are being killed on a daily basis in the streets. Shame on Arwa for bothering such a great actress like Raghda with her ridiculous questions,” Mayada finally said.
