Lebanese singer Maya Nasri denied allegations that she dressed indecently while filming the scenes for her first television drama “Sultan Al Gharam” (Sultan of Love), which is scheduled to be aired during the holy month of Ramadan.
Maya stated she will not allow such rumors, which are nonsense, to get in the way of her journey to success. She considered the allegations as useless attempts by jealous individuals who do not like to see others achieve success.
The drama marks Maya’s second experience in Egypt, the first being the film “Code d36” alongside Egyptian actor Mustafa Shabaan. Maya had stated that since she made the decision to acquire a career in the entertainment world she was always careful about presenting a positive image of herself to people and made sure that she does not use demeaning methods to become famous.
The odd thing of the matter is that Maya’s remarks contradict the verbal warning that the Egyptian Censorship Committee made to the director of the drama due to the existence of too many provocative scenes, in addition to the indecent attire that many of the actresses in the drama wear.
It was stated that female actresses in the drama were in some form of a competition with one another, each wanted to show as much as possible to attract the attention of viewers.
In addition, the Censorship had expressed concern that the style of cloths Maya wears in the drama is not appropriate for audiences during the holy month. The Censorship demanded that a number of scenes be filmed over and that the actresses wear more decent attire.
