Syria is going through a very rough political time and Syrian stars are on two sides of the river: regime supporters and regime opposers.
Syrian actor Maxim Khalil was rumored to have been brutally assaulted by individuals loyal to the Assad regime in San George, Beirut. Although Khalil never officially declared his political views in public, he did pay homage to the lives lost in the Syrian war.
However, a close source to the star denied the rumor, stating that Maxim himself dismissed such reports in a conversation with a Lebanese magazine, adding that all tweets claiming the same story are nothing but lies.
The whole shenanigan started when a random man decided to speak to one of the Lebanese newspapers and reported the supposed incident. He claimed that Maxim is a member at a health club in San George and attends it on a regular basis.
The newspaper was as equally ignorant as the person who started the rumor once they decided to go ahead and publish the news without any confirmation over its legitimacy.
Maxim's source said that if the incident had really taken place, Maxim would have naturally reported it to the police.
And don't try giving Maxim a buzz, as the distressed actor has turned his phone off to avoid talking to anyone about the news, which have seriously angered him, especially amidst the unstable conditions taking place in Syria and the region.
