Despite the cancellation of numerous concerts and festivals due to the unstable conditions in the region, many are still ongoing. Recently Lebanese controversial singer Maria held a very successful performance that lasted till dawn at the “Janah” (Paradise) restaurant in Bahmdoun.

According to the London based Elaph, Maria denied circulating rumors that she is banned from entering Syria and holding concerts. She added that she is not even on the list of Lebanese singers who are banned and that she never received any official letter stating that she cannot enter Syria.

It is said that the head of the Syrian Musician Union has launched a campaign against all singers that are considered indecent. On her part Maria recently released a music video with minimal seduction scenes in it in order not to be categorized with singers that use their body and provocative moves to seduce and attract audience.
