Lindsay Lohan has an explanation for her strange new accent.
The 30-year-old American actress told the Daily Mail she sounded much different in a viral interview from October because she's learning three new languages.
"It's a mixture of most of the languages I can understand or am trying to learn," she said. "I've been learning different languages since I was a child. I'm fluent in English and French and can understand Russian and am learning Turkish, Italian and Arabic."
Lohan had spoken with a vaguely British accent at the opening of her Greek nightclub Oct. 15. An interview from the event went viral Tuesday, but the star's dad, Michael Lohan, also downplayed the incident.

"Lindsay picks ups languages like I pick up a coffee!" he told Entertainment Tonight. "I will tell you this, she's spoken other languages on the phone with me -- languages I don't understand. I'll be on the phone with her and I'll hear her say something in fluent Farsi to a friend she's with."
"[She's] absolutely amazing," Michael Lohan added. "She's so happy and healthy and doing great. Every time I talk to her, so she's so positive. There's nothing to be concerned about."
Lohan settled in London in 2014 after starring in a West End production of Speed-the-Plow. The actress is known for The Parent Trap, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and Mean Girls and will next appear in The Shadow Within.
