Great Lebanese singer/Oud player, Wadie El Safi and legendary songstress Majida Al Roumi will be opening the Arab Music Festival, which will be held in Cairo’s Opera House, reported Al Sharq El Awsat newspaper.

The London based daily said that Safi has already recorded two songs for the occasion, one entitled Itha Masr Qalit Na’am (If Egypt Said Yes) and the other called, Ayidouha Wa In A’alanat La’ha (Support Her Even if She Said No), both written by Shukri Nassrallah and composed by Safi himself.

Maestro Abdu Al Munther, who will lead a group of 400 musicians, will accompany Roumi.

Roumi recently became the first woman ever to receive the Golden Medal of Honor from the Journalist’s Union in Egypt. – Albawaba.com.
