Egyptian director Samir Saif is currently negotiating with the Lebanese singer Majeda Al Roomi to play the late singer Laila Murad in a new TV series on the life history of the late actor Anwar Wagdi, according to the daily Al Sharq Al Awsat.

“I have chosen Majeda Al Roomi to play Laila Murad as I saw that she was the best to play the role of the renowned singer who played a big role in Wagdi’s life and was his wife for six years,” Saif told the daily adding that Roomi’s profile and voice qualify her to play the role. This is in view of the fact that the performance includes a number of songs, which need a competent singer.

The Egyptian actor Samir Sabri has been nominated to play Anwar Wagdi after his success in playing that role in the series Umm Kulthoom.

Earlier the Egyptian actress Yusra played Laila Murad in a radio series aired by the Youth Broadcasting Service during Ramadhan two years ago.

Meanwhile the renowned actor Ahmed Zaki has nominated Al Roomi to costar along with him in the new film Kissat Hobb (Love Story) – Albawaba.com
