Inspite of winning international awards in Cartage, Moscow, Istanbul and Syria for his latest movie Jannat al-Shayateen "Devils’ Paradise", the famous Egyptian star and film director Mahmoud Hemeida is suffering both physical and mental pain.
In an interview with the Middle East News Agency, Hemeida said that aside from loosing 2 million Egyptian Pounds, he had to undergo mild but painful surgery in order to retrieve his original appearance.
Hemeida who is the star and director of the movie, had tied up his teeth and changed his jaw line in order to fit the appearance of his dead character in the movie.
Hemeida said that although he suffered a great loss, the experience he gained was great and valuable.
The movie depicts the accidental fatal drug overdose of a man who after death decides to live in his own house with his family.
Above all, "Jannat Al Shiateen”, which is also starring the famous actress Libliba, won the first prize in the 6th National Egyptian Film Festival.
The film won the best production award, Hameidah received the best actor award, and the best director went to Osama Fawzi. The award for best photography went to Tareq Telmisani. Caroline Khalil got the best supporting actress award, Khaled Marei received the best montage award and Fathi Salama received an award for best music – Al-bawaba.com
