Seeking for fame and fortune, the stars of the new Egyptian comedy series Mawed Maa Al Shuhra (Date With Fame) are donning Indian, upper Egypt and African costumes.
“The episodes tackle the problems of young people and their ambitions in a comedy framework, through the story of a bunch of young girls and boys who seek jobs, fame and stardom because they are talented in singing and acting,” the director of the series, Al Sayyed Radi, told the Arabic daily Al Sharq Al Awsat.
“They shoot a video showing them singing and acting,"he said, "and send it to a famous producer who admires their talents and asks to see them.
