Famous Egyptian belly dancer Lucy has said that she prefers to stay home rather than play seductive roles with semi-nude scenes. Lucy added that some of the roles require her to wear belly dancing costumes, a matter she does not oppose, and what she is against is playing roles that are disrespectful to her and her family. Lucy stated her husband does not interfere in her career due to the fact that he is also an artist and knows very well the nature of the profession.
According to the internet website MBC.net, Lucy stated that the reason behind her absence from the movies is due to the fact that there is a lack of good scripts and stories. She stressed that she seeks a project that is rich in context and does not accept roles for the mere satisfaction of appearing behind the camera.
With regards to her recent role in the television drama “Samarah” alongside prominent Egyptian actress Ghada Abd Al Raziq and which was aired during the holy month of Ramadan, Lucy revealed that she had to use a lot of makeup to make herself appear much older than Ghada, who played her daughter. She added that Ghada had lost a lot of weight to appear as a young woman in her twenties.
