Comedy star Ahmed Adam has sent his regrets for not being able to appear in the film Lucy Fil Barlaman (Lucy in Parliament).
He said he would be busy filming Al Rajol Al Abyad Al Mutawasset (The Mediterranean Man) this summer.
Adam is the third comedy star to turn down the role, after Ashraf Abdel Baqi and Ahmed Helmi.
According to the London-based daily Al Sharq Al Awsat, the famed actress Lucy has denied rumors that the film was written as a vehicle just for her, overlooking other parts.
“Actually, the subject of the film requires such a lead role,” Lucy nevertheless pointed out about the film, Lucy in Parliament.
The film tells the story of a bellydancer who decides to run for Parliament and wins. Her ignorance of politics causes funny problems during Parliament sessions and discussions – Albawaba.com
