ALBAWABA - Egyptian actor Lotfy Labib died after a long struggle with illness at the age of 77, local media confirmed on Wednesday.
The Actors Syndicate posted on Facebook announcing the death of Lotfy Labib, saying, "The Actors Syndicate mourns with deep sorrow the passing of the great artist Lotfy Labib."
It added in the post: "The Actors Syndicate, headed by Dr. Ashraf Zaki and the Board of Directors, extends its sincere condolences to his family, praying to God Almighty to have mercy on the deceased and to inspire his family and loved ones with patience and solace. To God we belong and to Him we shall return."
Yesterday, the head of the Actors Syndicate in Egypt, Ashraf Zaki, announced a sudden deterioration in the health of Egyptian actor Lotfy Labib. Some sources close to the star explained, in statements, that Lotfy is going through a health crisis that requires continuous monitoring, adding: "We ask all his fans to pray for his speedy recovery."
Egyptian media sources confirmed that about seven years ago, artist Lotfy Labib suffered a stroke that left him partially paralyzed on the left side of his body, which forced him to withdraw from his art career at the time, but he gradually returned after his condition improved following regular physical therapy sessions. He later made guest appearances in a number of television and film productions.
