This news didn't come as a surprise since fans have been hoping for a Legend of Zelda live-action for years, with the addition of months and months of rumors.

Additionally, Nintendo already started making hit movies with the Super Mario Bros. film hitting cinema screens and making a whopping $1.36 billion, even after the controversial casting of Mario as Chris Pratt.

Arad has been an avid producer in the film industry, as he has worked on countless projects including many movies of our favorite friendly neighborhood hero, Spider-Man, such as Across the Spider-Verse, Into the Spider-Verse, No Way Home, and Far From Home.

Here is what Miyamoto said about The Legend of Zelda live-action

The tweet translates to:

"This is Miyamoto. We have been working on the project for a live-action Legend of Zelda movie for many years with Avi Arad, who has worked on many hit movies.

This time, we asked Avi to be a co-producer, and Nintendo itself was deeply involved in the production, officially starting development. It will take some time to complete, so please look forward to it."

Although the movie has been officially announced, it's unclear what storyline and setting the live-action film will take place so we'll have to wait for Nintendo and Miyamoto for more news about the matter.

Fans have been craving a live-action Zelda movie for years now since many of them took to social media platforms like YouTube to make and produce their own movie.

Our favorite fan-made film is definitely the recent Zelda Ocarina of Time X Ghibli: Castle Town which is made in Epic Games's newest engine, Unreal Engine 5 resulting in stunning graphics and a vibrant color pallette!

Although it's just a trailer, it managed to capture the essence and beauty of the game.
