Scenarist Atef Bshai recently finished the writing of a new TV series tackling the life of Lebanese well known writer and poet Mai Ziadeh, who lived and died in Egypt, according to the London-based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat.
The series, to be directed by Gamal Abdul Hamid, depicts Ziadeh's life in the awake of the cultural, economical and social changes, which underwent in Egypt since the beginning of the 20th century till the early 40's.
"Over the past two years, I read all of Ziadeh's works and letters. I also read most of the books talking about her personal and professional life. The work was hard, but yet I wanted to write about this great figure," said Bshai. He added that the role will be given to Lebanese young and beautiful actress Noor.
Noor, who is not well known in Lebanon, kicked off her acting career in Egypt almost a year ago, with the movie "Short Wa Fanela Wa Cap" (A Short, a T-Shirt and a Cap) infront of actor Ahmed Al Sakka.
Last week, Noor denied rumors circulating about a love affair between her and young actor Hani Salama. A weekly magazine reported earlier this month that the two stars are living a love story following their work on the movie "Akadimiyet Al Hob" (Love Academy), which was shot in Al Ghardaka. – Albawaba.com
