Katie Hopkins is gone.
The controversial news anchor was fired from LBC after calling for a "final solution" in another Islamophobic Tweet, this one following the Manchester Arena attack on Monday.
"Final solution" echoes the Nazi regime's "Final Solution to the Jewish Question," the deliberate and systematic destruction of Jews worldwide. It would eventually lead to the Holocaust, which destroyed most of Europe's Jewish population during the Second World War.
Though the Mail Online columnist had deleted her Tweet after it was swiftly and immediately condemned, she was nonetheless reported to the Metropolitan Police, which in turn confirmed that the matter was being "reviewed and assessed."
@helloiammariam Hi Mariam, we can confirm a complaint has been received. The allegation will be reviewed & assessed by specialist officers.

London-based LBC radio announced that Hopkins would be leaving "immediately." This is the second time Hopkins has failed to retain hold over a radio show; her first, broadcast on TLC and entitled If Katie Hopkins Ruled the World, was canceled after one year due to low ratings.
LBC has not yet commented on the decision, but it did follow an intensive pressure campaign, including petitions and boycotts by high profile personalities who said they wouldn't appear on the station until she was removed.
Hopkins attempted to defend herself, saying she'd wanted to type "true solution," not "final."
This isn't the first time Hopkins has come under fire. Over the past year she has made insensitive comments towards Alan Kurdi, the father of the infamous drowned Syrian boy; had insulted a Muslim family, calling them "extremists," because they were prevented from going on a flight to Disneyland; and called migrants "cockroaches."
Staff at LBC reportedly broke-out in "massive cheers and applause" over the news. One former colleague at LBC, James O'Brien, had stated on air how he felt "shame" to be sharing a platform with her, describingh her as a "a monstrous self-publicist," who engaged in controversy "in a desperate attempt to stay relevant and get noticed."
Hopkins, a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother in 2015, first rose to prominence as a contestant on The Apprentice, the show once hosted by US President Donald Trump. Trump is a fan of her views on Muslims, having praised her work in a Tweet.
Thank you to respected columnist Katie Hopkins of Daily https://t.co/LgtY0qdv9U for her powerful writing on the U.K.'s Muslim problems.

Predictably, elements of the "alt-right," including well-known figures such as Paul Joseph Watson, have lamented the decision, talking yet again about "free speech."
To which we can only say this:
A reminder about free speech - Katie Hopkins is free to say whatever she wants. LBC are free not to want to pay her to say it.
