THE LOVELY LAUREN Holly is quickly rising to the top of Hollywood's "A-list." And why not? She's been working hard as a thespian for more than thirteen years!
The daughter of two college professors, Lauren grew up in rural upstate New York. After a year-long educational stint in England, she returned to the States to study literature at New York's Sarah Lawrence College. Her aspirations to become a lawyer were sidetracked in her freshman year when she was signed by the Elite Modeling Agency. The subsequent years were filled with modeling and television gigs, but the diligent Holly managed to finish her studies nonetheless.
Lauren has continued to work steadily since her college graduation. Unlike most "overnight success" stories, Lauren paid many dues working for television. She was a regular on All My Children, The Antagonists, and Picket Fences and also portrayed Betty, one of the feisty high school loves of comic book character Archie, in the made-for-TV movie Archie: Return to Riverdale.
Lauren's breakthrough performance came as the object of Jim Carrey's affection in the smash comedy Dumb and Dumber. Lauren and Jim became real-life objects of affection soon thereafter with their short (but highly publicized) marriage.
After a series of broad comedies and thrillers, Lauren has recently turned to the low-budget, serious-minded projects that actors long to sink their teeth into.
