Amongst the presence of a crowd of celebrities from all around the world Tunisian singer Latifa was for the second time presented with the Murex D’or award for Best Female Arab Singer. The singer was chosen through a poll done by critics, journalists and fans.
The announcement was made during the Murex Golden Awards Festival, which will be aired on the Lebanese Broadcasting Company in the very near future.
Recently, Latifa received a personal greeting from the Tunisian President Zein Al Abdeen Bin Ali congratulating her on winning the World Music Award. The president stressed in his letter that he is grateful to Latifa for loving her country and added that her presence at the awards ceremony was significant.
According to the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />London based Elaph, the Tunisian Ambassador of Egypt held a grand celebration for Latifa in Cairo. During the big event the letter from the Tunisian President was read and the singer was honored with an award for her great achievements.
