TV Actress Gokce Bahadir was accosted by hounds of press keen to intrude into her recent divorce from co-star Ali Sonal in Turkish soap 'Falling Leaves'.
TV Actress Gokce Bahadir, famous for her role as Laila in the Turkish series,"Falling Leaves", known in the Arab soap-viewing world as 'the Fall of the Leaves', has 'fallen' foul of the paparazzi's relentless camera glare upon her first appearance since announcing her divorce from actor Ali Sonal.
The actress was a more than a little thrown by the press thronging about her, probing for answers about her recent divorce. She was asked if she felt betrayed by her ex-husband, as well as the reason for their parting after a four-year relationship, not least a marriage that didn't survive more than months.
The word on the Turkish TV circuit has it that she was a victim of marital infidelity. The actress, however, refused to give credence to any of the gossip, choosing not to answer any of the questions. The reason behind the divorce remains private.
The relationship between the two actors began three years ago, full throttle, when they agreed to get married in the first few months of their courtship. Ali Sonal, who joined the cast of "Falling Leaves" in its final episodes, stood before Laila's on screen husband and rapist, Turkish actor Tolga Karel, who plays the part of Aws (Oguz) in the series - and surprised Laila by asking her to marry him on her 29th birthday. He sealed the deal by presenting her with an engagement ring, in the presence of her on-screen parents, actors Halil Ergun (Ali Riza), and Guven Hokna (Hayriye Tekin).
The news of "Falling Leaves" star Laila's divorce, comes on the heels of an earlier announcement relating to the same soap - that of a secret marriage for Turkish actress Deniz Cakir, who plays the role of Fotun, and Laila's nemesis, in the series.
