ALBAWABA - Popular American singer Katy Perry recently drew criticism on social media, with fans calling her "selfish" and "wasteful" after she posted a video throwing a cake on the ground while celebrating her 41st birthday.
After blowing out the candles, the pop icon carried the cake and tried to hit a staff member with it. However, the individual dodged the cake, and Perry dropped it on the ground. Other people attending the birthday event then surrounded the cake to take a bite from the floor.
The birthday celebration took place backstage after Perry's Lifetimes Tour performance in Sydney, Australia.

A social media user wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "A grown 41 year old woman not caring about the person who will clean up her mess & the person who put hard work into making that cake. She needs to touch grass. Katy Perry is getting more & more disgusting lately, as if recruiting Dr. Luke was not enough."
Another satire account added, "My mom was the one that baked this cake, she was so excited about the opportunity to make a cake for Katy Perry and spent so long on it, im genuinely confused and upset as to why she would do this."
The video flooding social media also fueled a series of memes, satirical posts, and other criticisms towards Katy Perry's recent actions. An X user wrote, "With famine impacting places around the globe, Katy Perry takes an entire cake and chucks it to the ground."
