ALBAWABA - Popular American singer and songwriter Katy Perry was furious after learning that the White House's official TikTok account used her song "Firework" over footage of the recent U.S. strikes on Iran.
The star took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, "I am deeply appalled and angry to see “Firework” used on the White House TikTok account as a backing track for video footage of military strikes. I did not approve this, I was not asked, and I absolutely do not condone it."
She added, "I wrote this song to be an anthem of hope, healing, and inner strength for people going through their darkest personal moments. To see a message of self-worth and upliftment weaponized to soundtrack destruction and violence is a complete violation of everything my song stands for."

Perry stressed to fans that her "music is for bringing people together, not celebrating warfare."
This isn't the first time a celebrity condemns Trump's administration for using their art to promote its social media content. Ariana Grande had previously slammed the White House for using her song "Bye" in a TikTok reel that featured Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arresting people.
In response, Grande wrote in the comment section, "Please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense. Fck ice."
Other stars, including Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, Foo Fighters, and many others, have also criticized U.S. President Donald Trump for using their music to promote his rallies.
