Kanye West is getting ready for Christmas by debuting a new opera in New York City just days before the holiday.

West, 42, took to Twitter  on Tuesday to announce his second opera Mary will be performed Sunday, December 22 at 8 PM at David Geffen Hall in Lincoln Center.

Mary, his second opera following Nebuchadnezzar, which premiered at the Hollywood Bowl in November, first debuted at Art Basel in Miami earlier this month.

Like his first opera Nebuchadnezzar, Mary is directed by Vanessa Beecroft and features music from the Sunday Service choir.

The image West shared on Twitter had, literally between the lines, the bible verse, 'Joseph thou son of David fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife.'

The bible verse, Matthew 1:20, continues, 'For that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.'

Mary is described as an, 'original opera' that is based on the biblical story of, 'the miraculous events surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ.'

'The Books of Matthew and Luke recount the story of Mary, who was divinely chosen by God to bring forth the Messiah,' the announcement read.

The opera is said to, 'bring together elements from different worlds - including opera, fine art, modern dance and gospel music.'

These elements combine to, 'created a new visual interpretation and innovative performance structure.'

West was spotted along with his Sunday Service collective sporting silver baggy outfits with silver socks and slides, with silver face paint when the opera debuted at Art Basel in early December.

The opera was performed on a massive barge for the Art Basel debut performance.

West is also coming off his gospel album Jesus Is King in October, which, after a number of release delays, debuted on top of the charts.

Jesus Is King took the top spot on the Billboard 200 album charts, with 264,000 album equivalent units, 109,000 of which were pure album sales.

It was his ninth straight album to debut atop the Billboard 200 charts, tying the record held by Eminem.
