The 37th Carthage Festival will host concerts by Spanish crooner Julio Iglesias, Najat Al Saghirah from Egypt and Helen Cigara from France during 31 music and theater performances in southern Tunisia, according to Agence France Presse (AFP).
The upcoming program will also include concerts by George Wassouf (Syria), Ehab Tawfiq (Egypt), Hani Shaker (Egypt), Majida Al Roomi and Ragheb Alameh (Lebanon), in addition to Samira Said from Morocco.
The festival will be inaugurated on July 12 and will continue until the end of August. Eleven Tunisian singers will participate in an opening ceremony called Qarn Mina Al Tarab Al Tunisi (Century of Tunisian Singing), according to the agency.
Many singers from the Arab countries in North Africa will participate in the closing ceremony, including Fulla Al Jazaeriyyah and Naema Samih from Morocco, Salmin Zrouk from Libya, Maaloumah Bint Al Maddah from Mauritania and Sofia Sadeq from Tunisia.
Films will be screened at the ancient Roman Theater during the course of the festival – Albawaba.com
