According to the London daily Elaph, crowds gathered to purchase tickets on October 15 for the upcoming performance by Lebanese artist Julia Butros in Damascus.

Damascus fans have not come out in such large numbers since last summer, for the performance of the great Lebanese singer Fairouze.

Julia will perform on October 22nd and 23rd at the “Damascus Qalah.”

The Syrian performances are part of Julia’s concert tour between Lebanon and Syria.  She will be performing some of her greatest national songs that her fans know by heart, as well as new songs that she will be performing for the first time.

Julia started her tour in Lebanon under the title “Julia Sings Lebanon.”  She held two concerts in Beirut on October 17th and 18th at the “Lebanon Casino.”

30,000 tickets were sold for Julia’s concerts in Lebanon, and were sold out from the first week they went on sale.

Julia’s concert tour features her first performance of her new song “Lebanon Nyalak” (Lebanon You Are Lucky). Julia would not go into any details about the new song prior to the concerts.  Julia’s brother, Lebanese composer Ziad Butros, said that the song will surprise all of Julia’s loyal fans.

Julia started preparing and rehearsing for the concerts two weeks beforehand, including 50 musicians to accompany her.
