Jordanian drama series “Al Ejtyah” receives an Emmy Award

The Jordanian television drama series “Al Ejtyah” (The Invasion) received the ‘Emmy Award’ for best international drama series. The ceremony is held annually in the United States for the most important drama series.


 The drama series is about an invasion by Israeli forces into the occupied Palestinian Territories four years ago, when they invaded ‘Janin Camp.” 


The series was written by Riyad Saif, directed by Shawqi Al Majri and produced by Talal Adnan Awamleh.


 The producer Talal Adnan Awamleh received the award during the ceremony which was held at the Hilton Hotel in New York. The series “Al Ejtyah” was competing with four other drama series.


  Lebanese channel “LBC” aired the series before last Ramadan season, although several other Arab television stations refused to air the drama series.
 The filming of the drama series lasted for six months.


  The series depicts the real lives of Palestinians in Janin.


  The series stars famous Syrian actor Abas Al Nouri, Dima Qandalift, Saba Mubarak, Minther Rayahneh and Eyad Nassar.


Filming took place in Syria at various Palestinian camps and real military weapons, planes and tanks were used in the filming.
