The renowned Kuwaiti actor Mohammed al Mansour who is also director of the theater department at the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, announced that a Kuwaiti cultural week is to be held in Jordan next august to celebrate Jordan’s win for Arab capital of culture for the year 2002.
In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), al Mansour said Wednesday that Kuwaiti artists’ participation in Arab events asserts its pioneering stand in the Arab art movement.
Other Kuwaiti artists taking part in the “Amman in Our Heart” operetta included Kuwaiti actress Hayat al Fahad, and singer Abdulla Ruwashied.
The Kuwaiti actor said that his participation is “a duty call” adding that these events "enhance bilateral relations between Arab countries.”
Al Mansour expressed pleasure over the honoring of Kuwaiti artists by King Abdullah II of Jordan saying “his majesty's step of honoring Arab artists and his continuous support for culture and art reflects his deep appreciation and affection for art.” – Albawaba.com
