Ongoing attacks in the art field between Egyptian and Algerian artists continue in response to the tension between the two nations, after Algerian fans attacked Egyptian fans following a soccer match in Sudan.
The artists have been pressured to show loyalty to the country from which he or she benefits.
Rumors claim the Moroccan artist Jannat sang for the Algerian soccer team. Angry Egyptian fans have launched a campaign on the internet website “Face Book” to boycott her music for singing for the Algerian team.
According to the London daily Elaph, Jannat has denied the rumors and confirmed her loyalty to Egypt. Many of her fans worked on another campaign to show their support and their love for Jannat.
Jannat said the behavior of the Algerian fans that attacked the Egyptian fans was unacceptable, and the Algerian government should have taken action against them.
Other Moroccan artists that were discovered in Egypt are trying to show their loyalty to Egypt and the Egyptian people. The famous Moroccan artist Samira Saeed said that supports Egypt and condemns that happened to the Egyptian fans in Sudan.
Some people in Algeria were angry over Samira’s comments and said that she should be banned from performing in Algeria.
Samira’s fame came with her duet “Youm War Youm” (Day After Day), with the Algerian artist Shab Mamy.
