Janet Jackson finally broke her Twitter silence on Saturday to tell fans she feels their 'love and prayers.'

The 50-year-old pop singer is soon expecting her first child with billionaire husband Wissam Al Mana and was placed on bed rest as she closes in on her due date.

In her first tweet since August the singer wrote: 'Hey you guys.. It's been awhile.. but I'm still listening.. I feel your love and prayers.. Thank you.. and I'm doing well.. Al Hamdu lillah.'

Janet - who is said to have converted to Islam - signed off with the Arabic phrase which means 'Praise be to God.'

It was confirmed last month that the Grammy winner is expecting her first child with Wissam, 41, who she secretly married in 2012. But it wasn't until 2013 that she confirmed the nuptials.

Earlier this year the Rhythm Nation singer announced she was delaying her Unbreakable World Tour.

'My husband and I are planning our family,' she revealed in a Twitter video. 'So I'm going to have to delay the tour.'

The Oscar nominee continued: 'Please, if you can, try and understand that it's important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor's orders!'

'But I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can.'

Janet's older brother Jermaine, 61, gushed: 'She'll be a great mother because she is very tough, very strict.'

'But I tell her, "If you need any parenting skills or baby skills, let me know because I'm the best diaper changer there is on this planet, still to this day."'

While the singer supposedly already knows the sex of her baby, the gender has not been publicly revealed but it's been said Janet is planning to pay tribute to her late brother Michael Jackson when she names her baby.

'Janet is super excited,' a source recently told UsWeekly. 'She's doing great. Janet feels really strong and is just so excited for the baby to come.'

The insider continued: 'She feels like this is one of the best things ever to happen to her. She is doing OK and resting until she is due. She is aware of complications, but as of now doctors say she is okay.'

'Her support system is extremely strong. She is taking things easy these days and is feeling well but not overdoing it in any capacity of her life.'

'Janet is staying healthy for her and her baby,' the source added. 'She's been praying for a child for a very long time.'

Janet's megarich husband works for The Al Mana Group, which was founded by his father, Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana. It is now owned Wissam and his brothers Hisham and Kamal.

The tycoon, who has an estimated fortune worth of $1billion, is the executive director of the group, which runs Harvey Nichols, Zara and Mango stores in the Middle East and also counts designer brands such as Hermes and Alexander McQueen among its portfolio.
