According to the London daily Elaph, the famous Egyptian actor Sharif Munir claims that an interview he gave to the Spanish television channel with the journalist Sharif Farid was edited and aired on Israeli channel 10 without permission.
The Israeli channel edited Munir’s statements to make it seem as if he said, “Israel is a great country,” during the interview.
Munir said that he was very upset to hear it sound as if he was praising Israel.
“The Israeli channel fabricated that statement,” said Muir, asserting that he actually said, “Israel has great buildings and architecture, but is a racist country, which Israel tries to hide from the rest of the world.”
Munir said that he made an agreement with the Spanish television filming crew not to omit anything from the interview, especially what he said about Israel.
Farid denied that Spanish television sold the rights to Israeli channel 10 to air the interview.
The interview was granted during the filming of Munir’s new television drama series “Birat Al Donia” which will be aired on television during the upcoming Ramadan season.
