Int’l Damascus Exhibition to host Wadie al Safi

The Lebanese prominent singer Wadie al Safi will perform two concerts as part of the artistic program which held yearly within the framework of the International Damascus Exhibition. 

The administration of the 49th session of the exhibition revealed that the artistic program will kick off on July 17 to last for 60 consecutive days. 

“The event will host a number of singers and theatrical and folkloric troupes, including Lebanese singer Wadie al Safi who will perform two concerts, Iraqi singer Sahar Taha (one concert) and al Tariq (the road) Troupe from Iraq (three concerts),” the general manager of the Syrian Exhibitions Institution, Emad al Zughbi, told the daily al Sharq al Awsat. 

He added that Syrian singer Mayada Bselis, Ankara Troupe for Popular Dancing from Turkey, Agaria Troupe from Georgia and the Syrian troupes, Enana, the National Musical Troupe, Zeriab and Abu Khalil al Qabbani, will participate in the event.  

Also, a number of plays will be staged, including Haki Jarayed (papers speech) from Jordan, Mohr al Arab (the hours of the Arabs) from Lebanon and the Syrian plays, Sumiha Fi Suria (allowed in Syria), Dhed al Hukouma (against the government) and Ashaa al Wadaa (Farewell Supper) – Albawaba.com
