ALBAWABA - What if OnlyFans were the ones creating the stuff in the Playboy Mansion? Launched in December, the Bop House, a TikTok page, boasts nearly three million followers.
The house, which was founded by 20-year-old Sophie Rain and 22-year-old Aishah Sofey, is home to eight creators, all of whom are between the ages of 19 and 24, and together they have over 33 million followers. They rely on viral, algorithm-friendly material for their TikTok presence, such as evaluating the well-known cookie brand Crumbl and taking a private flight to the Super Bowl. But OnlyFans is its main source of income. In its first month of operation, the Bop House says it made $10 million.
"We're all doing it like a little girl group, and we just want to support and encourage one another on TikTok," Rain told the Daily Mail. Each girl's profile on the house's website links to their different social media accounts. "Baddie on point," a Gen Z slang term that refers to someone who utilizes their body to get money, is referenced in the name itself.
The group's hazy distinction between their adult-content business and their PG-rated TikTok presence has caused controversy. Rain is among the several members that are 21 years of age or younger; one even sports braces. Rain claims to be a devoted Christian and wear a commitment ring while being an OnlyFans founder.
The content appears quite young, which is the problem, said Amber Horsburgh, a TikTok user, in a video. "A demand for barely-legal performers is being created by the intentional marketing of youthful personas for adult content." In order to direct viewers to its OnlyFans content, the Bop House has developed a social media following through its primarily PG Instagram and TikTok videos. This presents obvious issues given the platform's youthful user population—roughly 25% of TikTok's global user base is between the ages of 10 and 19. It's unclear if the Bop House is accountable for that.
In any case, the Bop House has no intention of slowing down. "With the money the Bop House is making us, we can afford a new mansion every single month," Rain continued in a recent interview.
