Major Egyptian producers Mohsen Jaber, Nasr Mahrouss and Tareq Abdulla are signing an agreement to coordinate the release dates for their albums this summer, which looks like a scorcher for the cinema and music industry, according to the London based Al Sharq Al Awsat daily.
For his part, Jaber is gearing up to release more than one album, with Ana Akthar Wahed Bahibbak (I Am the One Who loves You the Most) by Amr Diab topping the list, and Hairan (Bewildered) by Mahrouss is following with two albums for his stars Mohammed Munir and Bahaa Sultan.
Abdulla, meanwhile, is preparing a new album for Nadia Mustafa, and attempting to lure the star Hakim into a partnership despite the latter’s commitment to a monopoly contract with producer Hani Thabet. Thabet is the sole owner of Somnar Company, for which Hakim has recorded two songs written by poet Amal Al Taer.
Rotana company is trying to convince Mohammed Fuad to sell them songs from his film Hikayat Hubb (Love Story), which is being shot now. This is to rival another album to be released soon, including the songs of Mustafa Amar in the film Business, and Henaidi’s album, which includes his songs from the film Jaana Al Bayan Attali (We Have Received The Following Communiqué). No company has yet reached an agreement on a price for the latter.
Producer Mohammed Nakro, who recently left Rotana, will be have to be content with the release of Hilal Anter’s album Al Joker (The Joker), whose censorship squabble is considered by Nakro to be great publicity.
As for producer Mohammed Abdel Halim, he is trying to make up for his loss of an album released for Shaaban Abdelrahim by signing a contract with Asalah, Rashed Al Mjed and Mohammed Al Mazem, in addition to his singer Fares’ album, for which no release date has yet been set - Albawaba.com
