The head of Egyptian actor Ahmad Zaki’s medical team, Hassan Al Bana, who is supervising Ahmad’s health condition, has threatened to quit after three months of treating the actor for lung cancer. The threat came after a journalist published an article accusing Al Bana’s medical team of taking advantage of the actor’s health condition in order to reach popularity. The journalist claimed the doctors are using a free campaign to become known by giving out releases concerning the condition of the actor.
According to the London based daily, Al Quds Al Arabi, Al Bana stressed that these allegations are completely untrue and he has not gained anything since he began treating the actor. Al Bana also revealed that he has not taken any financial compensation for his work. The doctor added that he does not worry about the financial matters and is spending over 16 hours a day supervising the actor’s condition, while his visits to other patients last for a few minutes.
Hassan added that he is experiencing enormous fatigue and is seriously considering pulling out of the mission that was handed to him. He noted that he personally hates to be in the spotlight and prefers to work quietly without any interruption from the media.
Zaki is currently undergoing psychological treatment at the hands of Doctor Ahmad Okasha, after the actor fell into a state of severe depression and refused to continue his treatment for lung cancer. The actor has become very pessimistic about his healing process and decided to discontinue all tests, treatments, and chemotherapy session believing that there is no hope left for him.
Another factor that added to the actor’s depression is the news that reached him when he left the ICU room, which stated that he had passed away after encountering a heart attack. the actor was shocked to see such large crowds of people in the hospital, who apparently believed that he had passed away. It was added that a rumor, which stated that the French doctor who is to examine the test results of the actor, had refused to continue studying the case saying that the actor’s condition was beyond helping. All these factors kept adding to the psychological state of the actor making him gloomier as days passed by. –Albawaba.com
