Al Bahth Anel Mustahil (Searching for the Impossible) is a new Syrian TV series costarring Bassel Khayyat, who plays a doctor who moves to Damascus to flee a failed romance, according to the Syria Times.

Noura Murad plays Heba, the girl who represents the good manners of the old quarter.

The series deals with the life of young men and their search for happiness. It casts light on the story of Dr. Samer, who prefers life in a rough-and-ready working class neighborhood to the materialistic side of the city. There, he is introduced to three young men who live out different dreams.

The series deals with people’s search for happiness, which is portrayed as something impossible or out of reach at this stage of human development, because remarkable technological development have caused a lack of intimacy among people and weakened their social lives.

Throughout the doctor’s stay in the quarter, the director tries to highlight the differences between living in the city and the countryside.

Director Hind Midani told the daily that the series concentrated on the daily life and problems of young people, and the difficulties they had to surmount in order to achieve their ambitions. “Love is part and parcel of all my work,” the director added – Albawaba.com
