Prominent Egyptian actor Hani Shaker refused to answer Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi back, after she had attacked him publicly. Hani stated that he refuses to make any comments regarding such attacks stressing that anything Haifa had to say about him is of no significance.
Haifa had publicly attacked a number of prominent singers like Hani, Amr Diab and Asalah Nasri saying that their stardom has faded out and will never be as famous as they used to be since she appeared on the scenes. Haifa added that her popularity has grown and spread internationally making people forget singers like Hani.
These statements by Haifa caused anger to break out. Hani stressed that from the moment he entered the music industry he has been widely known and he has earned his popularity. He added that he was never disrespected any singer and made rude comments against anyone, but rather always focused on his career.
Hani said that his career began among some of the most prominent singers of Arabic music like the late Egyptian legend Abdul Haleem Hafez and that generation of singers taught him how to take charge of his career and how to deal with all kinds of problems.
On a different note, Haifa recently filmed a special episode of the popular program on Dubai television “Taratata” alongside prominent Lebanese singer Ragheb Alama. Ragheb had personally invited Haifa to be his guest on the show and sang duets with her for the songs “Ya Ghaib Tala” and “Haiati”.
Haifa also sang a collection of her popular hits in addition to the song “Naughty” from the album ‘Baby Haifa’, which is especially for children and will be released in the very near future.
The episode will be aired on May 6, 2007.
