Egyptian singer, Hani Shaker, put his foot in his mouth this week when he slammed 'artists' that turn to commercials to get cash. The songster was forced to backtrack when he realized he might have insulted singing pal, Mohammad Muneer.

In an interview with Sada al Balad newspaper, Hani said: “I did not mean to insult Muneer, who I consider to be a very dear person to my heart, or any other artist as many have accused me of doing for the mere fact of presenting commercials for different products. I had said the complete opposite, but it seems that many misunderstood my statements.”

However, despite his retraction, the star has opened up a war of words with his "dear" friend Mohammad, who struck back at Hani this week. Muneer told reporters that he thinks artists that take part in talent shows "have hit retirement": clearly a targeted blow at Hani, who is a judge on talent show, 'The Voice of Al Hayah.'

Sounds like the pair of male singers are taking a leaf out of Haifa and Ahlam's book.
