ALBAWABA - Turkish actress Hande Erçel posted on her Instagram story a photo of a local campaign to a ‘global call’ to save Turkish stray animals.
This comes amid the Turkish Turkish parliamentary commission's bill which goals to regulate the country’s large stray dog population which triggers fear of mass killings of stray animals.
ABC News reported that the approved 17-article bill has sparked anger among animal rights groups and advocates who said that the new bill could lead to stripping "millions of stray animals of their right to exist".

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that about 4 million stray dogs are in the streets. Although many of them are safe to be around, but some dog attack cases were reported.
Under the new law, municipalities will be asked to take stray dogs and keep them in shelters. However, sick stray dogs would be at risk of being euthanized.
