Young Egyptian actress Hala Shiha denied rumors that she demanded inflated wages, which lead to her absence from television. The actress stated that her participation in the new television drama “Raj’elik Ya Iskindiria” (I’m Coming Back Alexandria) is proof that the stories are a fallacy.
Hala stated that she feels producers have given her fair wages for her roles, and has not had to argue over financial matters. The reason she has not taken part in television dramas as of late, is due to her preoccupation with different films, Hala added.
In a shocking move, young Hala returned to the set of the film “Ghawi Hubb,” starring Egyptian singer Mohammad Foad, after withdrawing from it last month. The actress revealed that there was a misunderstanding between her and the film makers, but that all problems have been resolved. Hala refused to give exact details regarding the nature of the misunderstanding, only stating that the producers had finally agreed to some of her conditions after they failed to find a replacement for her.
The movie, which is to be filmed in Cairo and Sharm El Sheikh, revolves around Hala and Mohammad who engage in a tumultuous love affair. Mohammad is supposed to sing three different love songs for Hala throughout the film.
A special ceremony was held in celebration of Hala’s return to the film by the crew.
