After her controversial divorce from an Egyptian businessman allegedly involved with the Muslim Brotherhood, Haifa Wehbe was reportedly banned from state-run TV networks in her ex-husband's homeland.
However, this week officials from the networks have issued a formal denial saying that neither Haifa nor saucy Egyptian actress, Elham Shahin, are banned from their screens. TV boss Ali Abdul Rahman told reporters that the minister of information had never said that they were, despite the Brotherhood condemning both stars in the past.
Two weeks ago, the Lebanese songstress announced her divorce from Ahmad Abu Hashimeh, who was reportedly getting friendly with the conservative, Muslim Brotherhood, just prior to the split. Since she announced the news, the Lebanese megastar has been hit with a series of rumors about who was behind the divorce and how deep into Egyptian politics her ex-husband had delved.
