Wadee’ Wassouf, son of prominent Syrian singer George Wassouf, has assured the public that his father’s condition is now stable. Wadee’ stated that the stroke only affected movement in his hand and foot and he is not in need of any form of surgery and his condition only requires physical therapy.
Wadee’ said during a phone interview with the Lebanese satellite channel MTV that his father, who had fallen into a coma after a brain stroke, stressed that the media exaggerated his father’s condition and the people should be sure of the facts before publishing them.
Wassouf was transferred from a Syrian hospital in Damascus to the American University Hospital in Beirut Lebanon based on the request of supervising doctors. The hospital witnessed crowds of people who came after hearing rumors of his death and wanted to make sure their singer is still alive and wish him a speedy recovery.
