French actor Depardieu convicted of sexual assault, sentenced to 18 months

ALBAWABA - A French court sentenced screen star Gerard Depardieu to over a year and a half in jail after he was convicted of sexual assault, AFP confirmed on Tuesday.

Paris criminal court sentenced Gerard Depardieu to 18 months after he was convicted in the sexual assault case.

Earlier, the French star, 76, was charged with sexually assaulting two women during a film shoot in 2021.

AFP reported that two women, Amelie, 54, a set dresser, and Sarah (name changed), 34, an assistant director, accused the French star of sexual assault during the filming in 2021 of "Les Volets Verts" ("The Green Shutters") by director Jean Becker.
