Dozens of fans of the late Egyptian actress Ragaa Elgedawy have participated in her funeral on Sunday morning. The 86 years old diva passed away due to infection with Coronavirus inside the intensive care unit of Abu Khalifa Hospital for Health Isolation, 43 days after she was admitted to the hospital.
Family of the late artist performed the Islamic funeral prayer after her body arrived to Basateen Cemetery in central Cairo, amid a commitment to precautionary measures due to the spread of the Coronavirus in the country.
Attendees were keen to wear masks as Ragaa was buried by the preventive medicine team concerned with burying Coronavirus patients, asking everyone not to enter the cemetery and to be careful not to crowd as much as possible, as preventive medicine wrapped her body with a special bag for COVID-19 patients, and wrote a note on it "one of the infected."
The funeral was attended by artists Mervat Amin, Dalal Abdulaziz, Fifi Abdo, Ashraf Zaki, Munir Makram, Shaima Saif, Muhammad Al-Shaqnqiri, and a large number of her fans, as well as journalists and photographers.
